Advocacy!!!

Well I have had my advocacy going full swing right now. I am finding getting sponsors very hard for the children's packets I have. Thankfully I have had a lot of encouraging words from family and my Our Compassion friends. By the way their all amazing!!!
On another note though I have sold a little of my things I plan to sale. Not sure if I mentioned this so I will now. I have started my own buisness so it's just trying to get up and running. I am saling my small korker bows for $2.00 now when you mention it. I also being a person who loves crocheting started saling my three stranded crocheted headbands for $2.00. Its not a lot, but it adds up. I must say a lot of people are happy to give just donations. Yes I am wearing my compassion badge when I do this. This money goes to two more children needing sponsorship through one of the organizations I have researched, looked into, and get updated on the children. The people know this. Most decide on this option. The other option why I carry my badge is I am saving up for things the compassion children need and need for safety. If I can get this up and running with many donations maybe I can do a few more donations from the people to add more than two children and do more donations for things the children need to live and for their safety. I have had one donate this months sponsor fee of one of the children I have being sponsored through donations, enough for one safe playground for the compassion children, and half of the other sponsor childs fees already. Not to mention I have someone sending a donation for I dont know how much. In this I feel like I am making an accomplishment. :)
As for having a church presentation with my church. I have a date pinned down almost. The preacher is deciding to try and have the presentation in late July or early August. I have already had three people wanting to do sponsorship. Two have to ask their husbands the other has toget something settled first. That's an exciting note. Well I guess that kind of sums up my advocacy.

The Update And The sucker For Kids

Well I was taking care of some things on compassion while riding with my mom this afternoon. I look at my photos of my kids to see a photo update for one of my coorespondents. I scream omg!!! Literally scaring my mom which I admit wasn't smart while she was driving down the rode. Whoops!!!
Here's Haile's past and new photo....

This is Haile's first photo about four years ago. Sorry its blurry couldn't get it on here any better.

This is the photo he had when he came into my life. This is his photo he took two years ago. Wish I would of known him during his first photo and the beginning of his second photo. He looks a lot better than his first photo. Especially his teeth looks better.

This is his update. Boy has he grown up. He even smirked and seems to be a start of a real smile. I try to believe it's due to him getting more letters. He looks better and happier in this photo. :)

Now for the reason I was looking at my account. I admit I am a big sucker for kids. I added another sweety to my family. Don't know if that makes for a bad or a good me. I told myself no more kids. I remembered though that my mom paid some of Heslers monthly and now she agreed to pay some of this little ones. We fell in love with this sweety. I admit I may have more though. My mom is amazing!!!
So here is our new sweety. This is Juan from Guatemala. He is five years old. I hope I can put a smile on his face. :)

The awesome thing is he is from Hesler's center!!!

Great Day ( A Little Off Subject)

I actually wrote this on  June the 11th and didn't get to post it on here. Now I have though. I hope you all like it even if it is late!!!!!
Had a great day....
I received a first letter from Jairo my four year old sponsor child in Peru.

Here's his letter. :) My favorite part is mainly the last sentence. He made my day.

I love his picture he drew me too. One of his favorite things to do is art. :)

The letter on the back says....
Jairo Hurtado
His favorite dish is roasted chicken. He sends you all his love. He enjoys playing soccer and his best friend is Pedro. He doesn't go to school yet. At the center he enjoys watching Bible story cartoons. He wants to know: how many children do you have? Please pray for his mom Lucy to come to know Jesus. He will close with a big kiss.
Vilma Garcia (tutor)
I love his first letter. I thinks he did pretty good to for a cute little four year old not used to doing letters. :)

Now a little off subject....
Today marks going on six years me and my amazing boyfriend have been dating. I have to let it out. He's one of the best things that could happen to me. He supports me in all I do wether he agrees with it or not and encourages me to follow and achieve all my dreams. :)

And another picture it's not so good, but I love his eyes in it.

Excitement!!! ( A little Late)

Through donations I sponsored another child. This is Philip who is between 16 and 19 years old. He is with Love Mercy Uganda. I think he knew he would be sponsored soon. He had in advance a picture drawn and a letter written in and told that they had to go to his sponsor when he got one. :)

A letter, and accomplishment, and a question (Posted on the OC site)

Well as I mentioned in a previous post I am trying to raise funds through a introduction through church, saling headbands, and asking for donations. All of the churches funding will go to compassions organizations such as playgrounds, medical, nets, and etc. The things you can donate to. I mentioned Friday making a little from my headbands, but today I went to church and some people I spoke to even before the scheduled date to speak to the church was asking about compassion and the children. I told them about it... Two said they would talk to their husbands. The other said they were probably going to have to drop their sponsorships with another organization due too issues with the other organization. She said she would get back with me soon. She's excited because with compassion she can write the children unlike her previous organization. As for later today within only around two hours with the small amount I made yesterday and what I made within those two hours I have made almost enough for one month sponsor fees and even a new playground for some lucky children. :)

As for my question does anyone think it is okay to send photos I took on the Battle of Shiloh that I went and saw yesterday with my family? Some of the pictures have pictures of the cannons they used so I was curious. It comes attached with a funny story about ticks.

As for the letter I received a second letter from Angeli written by her mother!!! The confusing thing is they write her name as Engeli (is that a way of saying Angeli). I learned some things I didn't know though.

This is Angeli's or Engeli's second letter to me. The theme is my dental check up. If I understand correctly her last checkup she said was March 18, 2013. She got her check up at the center, she felt happy about getting her dental checkup, and the dentist/nurse said Don't eat too much candy. That had me giggling. :)

Her letter was translated saying....
Shalom! Name: Engeli Vicktory Koroh (Ivy), (I thought it was Angeli Victory Koroh.) she is three and a half years old, (compassion has her as turned four on April 18th. This must of been written becore April and her letters are taking a little time in coming.) she is the second child of two siblings. She likes to come to the Child Development Center because she can learn. She's thankful to you who have sponsored her. She really hopes for your support in prayer so she can be a smart child (She asked for this prayer in her first letter too). How are you? She'll wait for your reply letter.
Regards Engeli.

I recieved these sweet little ones child pamplets in the mail yesterday. I fell asleep quicker than I could get them up yesterday to my sadness. I hoped to get them up. I hope I did the math right for their ages. Pretty sure I did. So here they are....

Another Compassion Mail Day

I was informed by my dad that I had a package when I met him up town with my mom today. He even brought the package up town that day for me to look at immediately. As i eagerly opening the big box I found this....

I contained a poster, a table stand, advocacy labels, a t-shirt, brochures, and ten child pamplets. I plan to use all this with my church presentation.

Marcella (Sela) my fifth sponsor child

This is 9 year old Marcella or Sela from Indonesia.I received her to advocate for her a sponsor. I fell in love with this cutie. Her father is a little lame, but still supports his family. Her birthday is on October 16th. No matter how hard I tried all I could do is stare at her photo. I decided to sponsor Marcella if no sponsor was found for her by her child pamplets expiration date on June 21st, but due to the new sponsorship pay change that I varified through compassion I went ahead and sponsored her so I would be paying for most of this month.
This is Sela who is above average in school and whose favorite activity is playing with her friends.

I pray I can make a difference in Sela's life.
